Hawzah News Agency- The council was attended by the Senior Official of the holy shrine, His Eminence Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi, religious and Hawza figures, and crowds of visitors.
Sheikh Abdul-Sahib Al-Tai delivered a lecture in the gathering, where he recited elegies for this painful occasion, recalling the sacrifices made by Imam al-Hussayn, his family, and his companions (peace be upon them), and what transpired in the Battle of Karbala.
The gathering concluded with a poem recited by the poet Muhammad Al-Fatimi, which recalled the events of Ashura in Karbala and the calamities that befell the Prophet's family (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his family) on that day.
The ceremony of replacing the flag of the blessed dome is one of the annual rituals held by the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine with the arrival of the holy month of Muharram, signaling the start of the Hussaini mourning season in the holy city of Karbala.
